HASTELLOY X alloy
HASTELLOY X alloy is a superalloy strengthened by solution hardening that combines excellent high-temperature strength with very good resistance to both oxidizing environments up to 1095°C and carburizing environments. It is one of the most widely used materials in gas turbine engines, both forged and in the form of semi-finished products. But Alloy X is also widely used in the chemical and petrochemical industries and power plants.
Heat-resistant X alloy (UNS N06002) summarized:
- Nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy
- Used in aerospace applications for over 50 years
- Good balance between heat resistance, oxidation resistance and manufacturability
- Use for gas turbine engines, exhaust components, transition channels, exhaust pipes and more
- Corrosion resistance up to 1093°C
- Good weldability
X alloy has an excellent resistance to reducing and carbonizing atmospheres. The high molybdenum content in this alloy ensures that it can be exposed to catastrophic oxidation.
Product description Haynes HTA - Hastelloy X Alloy
Although Alloy X is a suitable choice for the above applications, in new applications with even higher requirements this alloy is increasingly being replaced by more modern alloys such as HAYNES 230® alloy. HASTELLOY X alloy can be cold or hot deformed using a variety of techniques and is easily welded using standard techniques.
